Munting Miss Gensan Under the Sea 2015

Munting Miss Gensan 2015

With the theme: Under the Sea.. Amazing little creatures!!! I was really amazed with their costumes and how they project individually is really heart-melting.

I am utterly speechless. How come they didn't have this when I was 4 or 5 years old. Hahaha

Another lovely event you have to come and see when you visit Gensan. If you missed this year's Tuna Festival, don't worry... Next year is a good year to spend your time here in our place.

Taralets Tuna Festival 2015! (Float Competition)

That time of the year when Generals (locals of General Santos City , Philippines) celebrate the Tuna Festival. General Santos City is known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines as it produces tuna products for the country.

A float from Mlhuillier.

With some of the dancers during the parade.

An entry from SM of Gensan
(This particular photo of SM Float is not mine, I just grabbed it from a friend in Law School)

Too bad, I wasn't able to capture everything. But most of my friends said, it was the BEST tuna festival there ever was... They even had longest "sugba" station set up at Pioneer Avenue.

Visit Gensan!!!

Leisure 85: Happy Customer!

Today's nail art is purely out of a little bit of here and there.. We did not plan the nail art but I really had fun doing her nails. I really like Miss Sally's nail shape so I did her nail art and tried my nail tape for the very first time and she did not know that it was my first time. I only watched the videos on how to use it but it turned out pretty well.

Step 1:
Put on your base coat. Her base coat is pink. Let it dry. We used NICOLE polish on her nails and it was really quick dry.

Step 2:
Put on the nail tape. Cut the excess edges.

Step 3:
Put the heart shape decor and seal it with colorless nail polish or like here, I used WET N' WILD glitter coat to seal both the heart decor and the nail tape.

Step 4:
Let it dry and you are DONE!!

Hope you enjoyed our nail tutorial..

Grabbed the photo from the Nail Model herself.... Miss Sally!!

And this Miss Sally, my lovely friend and former co teacher.

Visita Iglesia - Catholic Churches in Gensan

OLPGV Church in front of Gensan Park
The third church we visited.

During our Bisita Iglesia for Good Friday and Holy Week, we visited some of the churches in General Santos City to offer our prayers and petition.

Visita Iglesia is otherwise known as Seven Churches Visitation for Roman Catholic Lenten season. It is a tradition of visiting 7 Catholic churches.

The first church we visited was Saints Peter and Paul Parish
at NDDU IBED, Lagao Campus Area

"The Seven Churches Visitation also known as Visita Iglesia is a pious Roman Catholic Lenten tradition to visit seven churches on Maundy Thursday.[1] On Maundy Thursday of Holy Week, following the Mass of the Lord's Supper, the Blessed Sacrament, the "bread" of the mass, is laid on the Altar of Repose in the church for the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. During the Seven Churches Visitation or Visita Iglesia, the faithful visit several churches – sometimes seven, sometimes fourteen, sometimes no set number depending upon the particular practice – to pray in front of each church's Blessed Sacrament." - According to wikipedia.org

The second church was Bula Catholic Church.

In the Philippines, Visita Iglesia is being done during a Holy Thursday or Good Friday. There will be a recitation of the Stations of the Cross.

The fourth church was at Silway Bridge.

During the visit to the 5th church at Uhaw.
"Penance" and "Sinakulo"

We met some people who rendered their penance but I didn't really capture the others because of the crowd. Penance is repentance of sins.

Sinakulo on the hand is a play depicting the life and sufferings of Christ which you can see on the photo above.

The sixth church was Manaoag Church near ABCD Convention.

St. Michael Parish was our 7th church for laying down the prayers.

(I just can't believe how amazing my old Samsung Note took these photos. Way back in elementary days, I used to read magazines and books including Encyclopedias and take a look at good photos of places. I always told my self that these places are really good. Someone told me that "Bohol in pictures are really good but when you are there, it's not really amazing." Back in my mind, "Well, it's how you see the world that makes it entirely different." The photographer just doesn't want to tell you the good image but how he / she felt at that moment when she / he was taking the photos. And during the times I was taking the photos, I felt really good and blessed that's why, my captures were amazing. (according to me)

Have a peaceful Holy Week everyone!

Parade with some of the participants and Sto. Nino being held by a priest.
Thanks to my husband for the photo.
Cebu City

Sinulog Festival time! Cebu holds a yearly festival which they call Sinulog. The heart of this religious festival is Santo Nino.

During this time of the year, people recall how Christianity was brought about in Cebu. The said religion was brought in the Philippines sometime in 1521.

Postcoffee House

A new place to relax and enjoy your coffee... at Postcoffee House. You may find this little cozy place at J. Catolico Ave., General Santos City.

They serve a really good bake spaghetti and really affordable coffee. Prices for hot drinks starts at Php 50. They even serve espresso for only Php 50. For those who would like to warm up with their families and kids, they could help themselves with steamed milk (which we also ordered for our kids).

But what makes this coffeehouse unique? They call it POST COFFEE HOUSE for one reason. People who visit this area could write anything on a sticky note and post it on the walls or even on the ceiling. That is quite fun!

So, when you visit General Santos City, don't forget to have some coffee in POST COFFEE HOUSE. Have fun everyone!
