Leisure 74: Nail Care for the Kids

Since today is officially summer time in the Philippines and the kids are no longer in school, I had to make their stay at home worthwhile. So, I came up with Mama Nail Care activity. I cleaned all their nails and had the girls polished with polka nails because they requested for the polka nails.

For Anica's nails, I just used simple polka design which I already made a year ago.

And now for Alexa's nails, she also requested for the polka. But I placed accent so it would look different from her sister. So, here it goes..

This is how both of the nails from left and right fingers look like with the accent.

 Left hand with pink accent.

Right hand with blue accent.

And because Kurt can't use the colored polish, I just cleaned his nails and had his photo taken after crying for not having the colors. hahaha

That's it for today ladies, have fun! Don't forget to check out how I used the polka in the previous year (2013) for nail art tutorial.

Leisure 73: Green Rose

My green rose tutorial is very easy. I prepared this a week before my friend Irynn Carole's vow with also my friend Antonio. I am so excited for their wedding. I just hope the colors won't fade before Saturday's event. I just love weddings, it brings everyone together!

Step 1: Base coat on top of nails plus yellow polish.

Step 2: Use a lighter green as base of the rose. This will add a bulging effect and makes the whole rose look like sticker.

Step 3: Using your dotting tool and a darker green polish, just put a rose drawing on top of the light green polish.

Step 4: Put your top coat. DONE!

Yay, I also colored my hair so, bye bye grey hair!

That's it for today... Hope you guys enjoyed!

Leisure 72: 75th Kalilangan Festival inspired Nails

Happy 75th Kalilangan Festival to all the Generals (people living in our city, General Santos). So, since I haven't participated this year and I haven't gone to the city fair, I just made my own Kalilangan inspired nail art design.

As you can see above, I used several colors. There are also 4 nails there which were painted on my nail pad. That will serve as your guide on how to do it. That's very simple. You can choose different colors that you like because Kalilangan Festival is very colorful and you can just play around with any shade that you like.

Some of my upclose views.

The picture below is the one I did for my simple lettering as background draft for this nail art.

Happy Kalilangan! Tara na sa Gensan! Manayaw ta sa dalan!

Leisure 71: EDSA Revolution Inspired Nails

Just a simple lettering which was taught to us when we were in high school.
I was 12 or 13 years old back then.

The nails you could see here are the nail designs which I planned to make for a simple celebration of EDSA Revolution / People Power which happened in our country 28 years ago. There were demonstrations from people all over the Philippines because they all wanted to end up the 2 decades running power of then the President Ferdinand Marcos.

The said Revolution took place in Epifanio delos Santos Avenue or commonly known as EDSA. It was also called the YELLOW Revolution (probably because the one bringing the people in unity was wearing yellow; the former President Cory Aquino.)

So much for Philippine history..

Love, love love!!!

Leisure 70: My First Nail Lacquer

Aw.. Just wanted to share my first ever lacquer experience... It's not everyday that I get a chance to buy stuff / expensive ones.. hahaha So, I guess this is it..

I need something that relaxes me from within and this is what I really love and this is so comforting.. Nail care is just so amazing after a week of being pressured from examinations and doing a 4-day Business Opportunity in Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges for our perfume business. Thanks RMMC!

Thank you to all who bought our perfumes in RMMC College Week!

The girl beside me is Emy. She is a 3rd Year Management student who helped me sell my perfume products at RMMC. This was taken during the 4th and last day of the College Week.

Leisure 69: Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, I have decided to share a heart inspired design for everyone. As you can see below, I haven't placed much nails, only my new nail pad (courtesy of my beloved Aunt Helen and cousin Carol).

That's my new version of showing you how to do the nail art design on your own. From left to right, that's steps 1, 2, 3 and 4. DONE!!!

Don't forget to use cosmetic sponge for your step 2 to make the lovely OMBRE design.

The hearts on step 3 and 4 are very simple. If you do not know how to do it, here is my instruction: http://joneeacedilla.blogspot.com/2014/02/leisure-68-hello-month-of-love.html

And since today is Thursday, it is also a throwback Thursday.

My husband and I during our Senior's Night way back in 2003.

"Valentine's Day.. I don't get the point of people feeling loveless on Valentine's Day. Believe me or not but for 13 years of being with my boyfriend & husband Ian Robert, I can only vividly remember 2 special Heart's Day with him. The first one was during 3rd year high school when our friend and classmate Samuel gave me 3 white roses. I thought it was from Samuel but later that day, I found out, it was from the guy you can see right now on this photo. The second one was this photo, our Senior's night 2003. But other than that, I couldn't remember any valentine's day with him anymore. However, I never felt unloved.. It is probably a state of mind (it's all in your head). There are different types of love.. Romantic love (eros) is good, but are we forgetting the love of our cousins, sisters, brothers, brotherly (storge), friends (philia), daughters, sons, moms, dads? Are we forgetting the love of GOD? Isn't that something worth celebrating as well? Love is always everywhere.. You need not to look for it, it's just there! You just don't know it. Have fun everyone!

I love you dad.. and you are not here again. hahaha But that doesn't make me love you less. It in fact makes me remember all the good times that we have shared.."

As I have posted on FB..

Be inspired everyone!
